#CheckOnYourUCrew

The Office of the Vice President for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) launched this campaign in April, looking to reach underrepresented students experiencing difficulties created by closures and cancellations. While we are coming together as a campus with the best interests of all in mind as we work to stop the spread of coronavirus, we also want to keep in mind the social and emotional needs of those who may be suffering in silence.

With the expansion of this campaign to the entire university, be on the lookout for tips, resources, and messages of support from multiple entities across the University of Utah! Search #CheckOnYourUCrew to find how people across the campus community are checking in on one another or participate in this campaign yourself!

Resources

Check on Yourself

You are part of your U crew. And before you can check on the rest of your friends, (chosen and/or given) family and community, take time to check on your own personal wellness.

"Everyone’s wellness journey is unique. As we explore our own personal wellness, it’s important to remember that being well looks different for everyone and that these dimensions of wellness are interconnected, active and dynamic. Recognizing areas of our wellness that are thriving and those that may need additional support can help us seek the resources we need and take positive steps to become more well."

Back to School: Check on Your Next Steps

After months of uncertainty and a shift to online instruction and telework, the University of Utah is slowly making the transition from red to orange and yellow status. As this occurs, classes will resume on campus starting August 24 with safety precautions, trainings and measurements required by all staff, faculty and students at the U. Before returning to campus, review and share the University of Utah's "Return to Campus" website to keep your U crew safe and healthy!

Admission Checklists

In addition to the resources listed on "Return to Campus," the Office of Admissions has created checklists for all admitted students at the University of Utah. Check your next steps towards enrolling at or returning to the U.

Prepare a Healthy Workspace

University Print & Mail Services has complied some tips and resources to help prepare your workspaces and promote a healthy work environment for when your team returns to campus. To make things easier for you, they've partnered with University Marketing & Communications and University of Utah Health Office of Public Affairs & Marketing to create printable signs and templates for you to display around your workplace on campus or at U of U Health locations.

Purchasing along with General Stores & Receiving have been partnering to source scarce PPE and sanitizer items for departmental purchase. Please contact General Stores directly if you would like to place an order. Some items may not currently be available; however, they are actively sourcing and filling orders as soon as possible. If there are PPE items you would like to purchase that aren’t currently stocked, please call 801-581-8671 to discuss.

How to Participate

This Month's Theme: Back to School

We are calling on our University community – students, faculty, staff - to join us in reaching out to their classmates, colleagues and friends. All participants are asked to support the social media portion of the campaign via three simple steps:

  1. Reach out to members of your “U Crew” to see how they are doing and if they need anything to return to school.
  2. Post your own picture, video or message sharing helpful resources and tips for students, staff and faculty preparing for the Fall 2020 Semester using hashtag #CheckOnYourUCrew in the caption of your post
  3. Use the campaign graphics available for download through the links below.
